Leinberger had it right….

Just a quick shout out to one of my favorite b-school profs — actually, he taught Urban Planning courses; but really MADE my b-school experience . He saw all of this stuff coming.

Here’s a link to his page.

And another to an article in The Atlantic called “The Next Slum?”

The subprime crisis is just the tip of the iceberg. Fundamental changes in American life may turn today’s McMansions into tomorrow’s tenements.

Let’s hope that he’s successful at helping Washington to see where we truly need infrastructure development. Not roads in the middle of nowhere — but in our downtowns. Walkable Urbanity is the future — and we’re depending on leaders like Leinberger to make it happen.

And check this out (LA Times):

Caravans of cash-rich Chinese in Hummers and Lincoln Navigators have been weaving through American neighborhoods in recent months, looking for foreclosures and other bargain properties to buy.

The world is changing by the minute.

I could write about this all day — but i’ve got a lot of work to do.
